Water jugs: a new concept

One of Foresight Fathers "winning" a water jug for his outstanding garden!
Since I was already scheduled to teach several HIV/AIDS prevention/education classes, I was asked if I would also briefly discuss these new water jugs the VOH was offering to villagers. These water jugs were something different because they had a spigot. The use of the spigot helps prevent contamination of the water, so people aren't dipping their hands, cups, other dishes, etc. into a water bin, therefore making it unclean to drink. I think I remember them costing 50 birr, which is $5.
After my brief explanation on how it works and its benefits, we provided small cups for everyone to come and try it out. It was a big hit and everyone wanted me to take their picture of them drinking the clean water!
Carolyn carrying some of the barrels. My dad had to "test" them out to make sure they didn't leak before we demonstrated them or sold them.
We taught the Women's Group (with their children)
It was a fight to get to the water jug!
So PROUD!

A lot of the kids were "collecting" the cups.

Mom got sucked into the picture taking too.

At an awards ceremony, the men with the "best gardens" won a water jug.
Very proud to win anything!
