Home for Street Kids

When we first arrived in Addis, we went to visit a home for street children. This placed touched my heart. These children are so loving and don't have much, but they seem so appreciative of what little they have.
A young guy named Jason Burton from Oregon saw a need for homeless children in Addis Ababa. He created Where Love Is and he volunteers his time and a lot of his own money to nurture these young boys. Most boys are orphaned, ran away from home, or had to leave because their family didn't have enough food to feed them. They are young and desperately need guidance and Jason provides that for them. He provides them a home, shelter, care, support and services. Most are now able to attend school, which is great! He is doing a wonderful thing with the hope that these boys can have a bright future.
Jason (top of picture) and the boys. The woman (don't remember her name) also lives there with her son, Brook. She was homeless too until Jason gave her a job (cook) and place to stay.

Jason rents this house and property for the boys to live.

This little boy (Brook) was too cute! He kept wanting me to hold him and I gladly did!

Burkee and his mom.

New stuff! He loved exploring the donation bag!

My dad playing with the boys.

Proud of his artwork!

Sleeping quarters for the boys.

Dogs playing on the grounds.

Amazing place!!!!! I wish these boys the best for the future!!!!!!
