Sheraton in Addis

We stayed at a very nice Sheraton when we were in Addis. We stayed the first night before going to the village and the last night before flying home. It was a nice treat after our long flight and also after a long week at the village!

This hotel is very fancy and often hosts many important African nation and UN meetings. Every person and their luggage must go through security (like at the airport). I felt very safe at this hotel. On our last day, the Ethiopian Prime Minister and Sudanese President were having a meeting at the Sheraton. There was "secret service" everywhere! The meeting was being held on our floor and I was out in the hallway and one of the guards said "can you please wait here...our president is coming".. and then the Sudanese President came down the hall, all dressed up in a fancy uniform, surrounded by guards. Very interesting to see. I wonder what they were talking about????

The staff at the Sheraton was gracious and friendly. Some even recognized my parents from their previous trips there.

We never really had time to swim, but it looked nice!

(Kymbra, Lita, Morgan, Celina, Teddy (our driver), Randy, Daniel (another driver), and the door guy (can't remember his name). Our drivers were so great and super friendly.
